The aim of this study was to determine the nutritional status and to evaluate the relationship between anthropometric measurements and dietary habits of adult individuals in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality. Between September and December 2017, 250 (118 female, 132 male) individuals working in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality were included in the study. Demographic characteristics and dietary habits of individuals were questioned and anthropometric measurements were taken. In order to evaluate the nutritional status of individuals, a 24-hour food consumption record was questioned. Sleep quality of individuals was assessed by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The mean age of the participants is 29,5 ± 12,0 years. The mean BKI's of males is a little fat (27,0 ± 4,0 kg / m2); women's are within normal (23,9 ± 4,1 kg / m2) borders. Men's neck circumference average is above the risk value (39,9±2,7 cm), Women's neck circumference average is below the risk value (33,5±2,6 cm). both men (98,5 ± 10,6 cm) and women's (86,4 ± 10,5 cm) waist circumference is above the risk value but both (man and women) are below the high risk value. In all individuals; dietary energy is the amount that carbohydrate and protein normal provide but fat rates are higher than the daily recommended values. Most of the individuals (51,2%) had poor sleep quality. At the end of the study, it was found that there was a significant relationship between bad sleep quality, morning and evening skipping of individuals, presence of chronic disease and dietary fat intake in males (p>0,05). In this study, no relationship was found between sleep quality with demographic characteristics and anthropometric measurements of individuals (p>0,05). Nutrition is an essential part of healthy life. In recent years, obesity and diabetes prevalence have increased in parallel with decreased sleep quality. Sleep quality and nutritional relationship should be investigated more extensively and the effects of nutrition on sleep should be clarified.
