Abstract (EN)

It has been reported that individuals with obsessive-compulsive traits are overprotective in their attachment patterns, exhibit a rejection attitude, or have a higher anxiety and avoidance pattern due to less intimacy, and these individuals also show more obsessive-compulsive symptoms. It seems that attachment styles may be mentally related to individuals with low flexibility, such as the ability to face and cope with unexpected situations in the outside world, the tendency to perceive to control situations in difficult circumstances. Past studies have not yet included a study examining the mediating role of cognitive flexibility in attachment patterns and obsessive-compulsive traits. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of cognitive flexibility between attachment patterns and obsessive-compulsive traits in healthy individuals aged 18-60 years. In this context, "Yale-Brown Obsession Compulsion Scale (Y-BOKÖ)", "Relationship Scales Questionnaire", "Cognitive Flexibility Scale", "Beck Depression Scale" and "State and Persistent Anxiety Inventory" were applied to healthy volunteer participants with online forms for an average of 20 minutes. Mediation analysis was applied using simple and multiple regression models via SPSS. As a result, it was found that cognitive flexibility had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between secure attachment and informal attachment sub-dimensions and Y-BOKÖ total score. The results of the study were discussed within the framework of the relevant literature.
