An empirical study on the effect of the interaction between female managers and their adulthood periods on job

Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is three-fold: to put forward the effect of the interaction between female managers and their adulthood periods on their job satisfaction, to examine levels of job satisfaction according to age periods and lastly to detect a relationship between age periods and job satisfaction levels. The participants of the study involves female mangers, who work in industry and service sectors in the year of 2016 in Mersin and Adana. The sample of the study have been constituted by selecting female managers randomly, who are working for Mersin Chamber of Commerce, Adana Chamber of Commerce, Adana Craftsman Association, Mersin GISKAD Adana ISKAD between May and July in 2016. In the study, correlational scanning model, which is one of the quantitative research types, has been used for the research. For all the questions which exist in the scale, validity and reliability analyses have been conducted. As a result of the reliability analysis, the questionnaire has been considered ,645 reliable. The questionnnaire used in the study has two parts. In the first part, a personal information form including demographic information (Appendix 1) has been used whereas Spector's Job Satisfaction Scale (Appendix 2) has been used to measure job satisfaction levels. After gathering the questionnaires, the data have been analyzed with SPSS 20.0 statistical package. Categorical measurements have been specified with numbers and percentage, continuous measurements have been specified with averaging and standart deviation. Distributions checked during the comparison of groups' continuous measurement, One-way Variance Analysis and Independent Group T Test has been used because of obtaining parametric prerequisite assumption. Post-Hoc Tukey analysis has been used during pairwise comparison of groups which include three or more variables. The result of statistical importance of all tests is 0.05. At the end of research, the study concludes that, according to age variable, elder female executives, according to marital status, widow executives, female executives with children, high school graduate female executives, 1-6 and more than 23 years senior executives, top executives and the executives earn 3501-5000 have higher job satisfaction. According to total job satisfaction status, female executives partially agree with the job satisfaction. Also statistically, a meaningful and positive relationship has been determined between age variable and job satisfaction.
