Abstract (EN)

The labour-intensive structure of hotel businesses which is an important type of tourism establishments, providing organizational success in said businesses, having employees to be in harmony with each other, to be adopted the targets of the organization and focused on increasing the quality of service they produce, shall directly influence the business sustainability. At this point, the guidance way of the employees within the organization, in other words, the power source which the managers use comes to the forefront. As a result of the power sources used by the managers, employees tend towards the feeling of integration and identification with the organization or moving away and alienation from the organization. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to determine the affect of power sources used by hotel managers on organizational identification and organizational alienation. In the study, first of all, information is provided as a result of domestic and foreign literature review related to the topics of power sources, organizational identification and organizational alienation. Opinions of the employees working in the hotel businesses were obtained by using questionnaire technique. The target population of the study consists of the five star hotels operating in Afyonkarahisar and Antalya cities. In this direction, 809 of hotel employees were assessed and in the analysis of the data obtained, reliability analysis, percentage, frequency and arithmetic mean values, t test, variance analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis methods were used. According to the findings obtained in the direction of the opinions of employees in hotel businesses, it was found that organizational identification and organizational alienation feelings of the employees were moderate, while managers used the maximum legal power source. It is also among the result of study that the power sources used by the managers (legal, expertise, liking, rewarding, challenging) significantly influenced the organizational identification and organizational alienation levels of employees.
