Gender factör in management approach: A research on bank managers in Afyonkarahisar

Abstract (EN)

In today?s business world, the idea of ? managament is a profession for men? is changing. The various aspects of women executives has been the subject of scientific study. Whether female managers carry a different point of view, a different air to workplaces, or their handling administrative functions is similar to men or different from them, as well as in the occurence the management culture in which aspects women differ from men are the basic topic questions for the scientific studies.Research includes bank employees in manageriel positions in whole branches of bank in Afyonkarahisar city center and district. The survey method is used in the search. From a total of 164 bank workers in managerial positions, 97 answered the questionnaire. All respondents were evaluted. In the analysis of data, descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage, mean, standard deviation) were used. Frequency analysis was performed to determine the demographic characteristics of respondents. The arithmetic mean and standard deviations of the variables were calculated. The reability of scale was assessed by Cronbach's alpha coefficients. (Independent Samples) T-Test was performed to test the survey questions based on the gender variable and factor analysis was applied in order to assess the relationship between dimensions.The thesis consists of three parts. In the first section, management, administrative concepts, management systems and effective managerial behavior is explained. In the second part, by taking personality, gender and sex factor in managament, it is focused on the obstacles faced by women of rising on manaearial position. In the third section is located to applications for determining the gender factor in the managerial approach.According to the findings, from the four dimension that are created for the managerial approach in the lidership property no significant difference was found regarding gender factors. However, the value of answers, which are about lidership, of female managers (survey 1-12 cross-questions) is higher than the male managers? answers value. No significant differences were found in the size of the decision-making related to gender factors. The value of answers of male managers about the decision making (survey 13-18 cross-questions) is higher than the female managers? answers value. It is concluded that gender factor in the size of the effect of communication skills has no significant effect. It had no effect on the gender factor in the size of the control mechanism has been identified. These results show that female and male managers without depending on such factors age, marital status, education level were not differ according to sex on behalf of executive behavior and attitudes.Keywords: Management, Leadership, Manager, Personality, Gender
