The effect of employees' trust in supervisors and their quality of working life on their intention to leave job: A study in five star thermal hotels in Afyonkarahisar

To be successful during the execution of works in the hotel businesses which is one of the most important types of businesses in the tourism sector, employees' trust in their supervisors, quality of working life and their intention to leave job arising from various causes have great importance. In this context, the studies to be carried out or will be carried out in the future on this relevant issue may provide great benefits to the parties concerned. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of employees' trust in their supervisors and employees' quality of working life on their intention to leave the job. Firstly, the theoretical background of the study was formed by carrying out national and international literature review on the concepts that make up the variables of the research. Afterwards, the survey technique was used and the relevant hotel management employees' views were taken. The population of the study is consisted of employees working in the five-star hotels (10) operating in Afyonkarahisar and Sandıklı district. A total of 539 employees' surveys have been evaluated. The participants' answers on the survey were analyzed by factor analysis, reliability analysis, percentage, frequency and mean values, t-test, analysis of variance, correlation analysis and regression analysis methods. According to the findings, it was determined that employees' trust in their supervisors and employees' perception of quality of working life are generally at a high level while their intention to leave job is low. In addition, it was concluded as a result of the study that employees' trust in their supervisors and quality of working life have an effect on their intention to leave job.
