Management information systems and the factory application

The main device that manages the knowledge within business and that supplies the different needs of managers who are in different grade of organizations is ?Management Information System?. Information systems: It is the knowledge system which collects necessary information from various sources, processes, keeps and reports the data to let the manager decide.The purpose of the study is to form Production Information System, sub-system of ?Management Information System?, in organizations which haven?t got any records belong to manufacturing and manufacturing control. With this purpose, Manufacturing Information System was written using MS Access database and Visual Basic 6.0 programming language.By the formation of computer aided manufacturing monitoring, it is tried to control manufacturing and get the manufacturing-related information at any time. At the same time, creating of work orders , tracking shipments and controlling the shipments of the accessories, making termini file available all the time are supplied with the manufacturing tracking information in the organization which performs project. In addition to working with MRP logic, the program includes record of shipping list and checking.Organizations make big investments to move to information system. This study ? especially medium sized organization- shows the ability of organization to form an information system with its own capacity without requiring large investments and shows the ability of supplying its own needs. At the same time, this study expresses that professional information system will cause complexity because of systems not being fully defined at the organization which switches from workshop to factory. In order to prevent this situation, making smooth transition to system formation can be done with more surface programs which provide habit of using information systems.
