The main scope of this study consists of 395 coins minted by Greek autonomous cities, Hellenistic Kingdoms and Roman Empire catalogued within the collection of the Yozgat Museum. The first group of this collection comprises 95 coins from autonomous cities during the Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic periods. Under this heading, the coins from different mint houses concentrated in the west of Asia Minor, from Thrakia in the west to the Cilician Region in the east were presented. The coins from the regions of Macedonia, Thrakia and Pontos, the city of Pergamon, the kingdom of Kappadokia, Seleucid and Ptolemaic Kingdoms, Parthian Kingdom and Persian Satraps during the Hellenistic periods, constitute the second group with 234 examples. Within this group, there are different coin types from Macedonia in the West and Parthia in the East. The final group includes 66 Roman provincial coins from various mint houses in a wide geography from the Thrakia Region in the west to the Commagene Region in the east during approximately 300 years period of time starting from Augustus until Gallienus. In this section, depiction of the emperors on obverse were identified and provided insights about their patter of circulation. Each coin was examined in detail by evaluating the origin city in which they were minted. In this context, the history of the striking coins of cities were given briefly. Furthermore, denominations, legends and designs of the coins were indicated.
