Abstract (EN)
As remote sensing technologies continue to develop, the interest of many different disciplines in this subject is increasing day by day. Studies conducted in the light of these developments in the field of maritime are increasing. Studies on detecting ships through satellite images gained momentum especially with the participation of active radar satellites in the process. In this study, it has been tried to reach the descriptive features of the ship and the ship with untrained remote sensing and image processing methods on the detection of the ship via optical satellite images and the identification of the ship that is in the field of interest of the maritime area. When the results obtained are examined, it has been observed that the ship's width, length, position, time, route, bow line, cruise status information can be accessed and determined in a meaningful way. It was concluded that studies should be continued for the determination of species and speed other than these. Geometric approaches are recommended for ship type detection and statistical approaches are recommended for speed detection.
