Abstract (EN)

In the first chapter of this thesis, welding, welding methods, friction welding method, paramaters, carbon steels, high croumium white cast iron and the literature review on the subject were given. In the second chapter, the importance of experimental study and experimental studies were presented in detail In the third chapter, the experimental results were given and the general results obtained at the end of the study were summarized. In this study, high chromium white cast iron and AISI 1030 steel with nickel interlayer were combined by friction welding method, using different rotational speeds and friction times. Welding morphologies were analyzed by Optical Microscopy (OM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Microhardness analysis. Also, tensile test analysis was performed to determine the maximum tensile strength of the weld joints. The fracture surface morphology after tensile test was examined by SEM, EDS and surface mapping analyzes. As indicated in the literature, weld joints were divided into four zones as fully plastic deformed zone, deformed zone, partially deformed zone and base metal. Depending on the rotational speed and the friction time, it was found that the shortened lengths of the weld joints were greater. From the results of EDS, atom transitions occurred in the weld zones. The highest microhardness values were obtained at weld joints exposed to 2000 rpm and 12 sec friction time.
