This study aimed to compare Turkey in 1951-1952, 1954-1955, 1954-1955, 1961, 2009-2010 and Sweden in 1957-1958, 1975-1976, 1997-1998, 2017-2018 United Nations Security Council membership processes in detail. The membership processes of these two countries and the reflections of these membership processes on their foreign policies were examined. The study analyzed Turkey's and Sweden's foreign policy goals, strategies and approaches in the Security Council membership processes while addressing how both countries became candidates for the Security Council, how they went through the candidacy process and the decisions they made in the Council during this process. In this context, the four membership periods of both countries are reviewed in detail and the reflections of these processes on their foreign policies were analyzed. At the same time, the effects of global powers on Turkey's and Sweden's membership processes and their roles in the United Nations Security Council resolutions were discussed. On the other hand, detailed information was provided to understand how these two countries are perceived in the international arena and how they demonstrate their effectiveness in the Council. With their increasing soft power, It had been focused on that they create more influence in the international system with their increasing soft powers and the effects of these soft powers on different national interests.
