Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the language policies applied to Turkish immigrant children by various countries. The analysis is limited to eight countries chosen from those with significant Turkish populations. The countries included in the study are: France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Belgium, and Australia. The study focuses on the language policies applied to Turkish immigrant children in these selected countries. A qualitative research method has been employed, involving the examination of databases from the relevant ministries of these countries. When analyzing the language policies of the countries covered in the study, it was found that while their objectives are similar, their implementation methods differ. It has been determined that each country has separate provisions for Turkish language and Turkish culture classes. Based on the evaluations, recommendations include informing Turkish immigrant families to better guide their children, developing communication-based assessments for Turkish immigrant, revising relevant textbooks, increasing efforts to enhance the effectiveness of lessons, raising awareness among students about Turkish language and culture classes, and encouraging Turkish associations to play a more active role.
