Investigation of anxiety levels of physically disabled athletes participating swimming championship in Turkey

Abstract (EN)

The aim was to investigate anxiety levels of physically disabled athletes participating Swimming Championship in Turkey. 127 physically disabled athletes in total, selected by coincidence method participated in this research. The data form prepared within the scope of the study consists of two parts. In the first part, a personal information form to identify the demographics of the participants; in the second part, "State Trait Anxiety Inventory STAI ", which was developed by Spielberger et al. and translated to Turkish language by Öner ve Le Compte was used to determine the anxiety levels of athletes. SPSS 22.0 program was used for the analysis of the data and for the comparison of the variables. In the statistical tests, it was observed that the data were normally distributed since the data were in the range of -1.0 +1.0, based on the Skewness and Kurtosis values. As the data were distributed normally, the data were analyzed with Independent Sample T-Test and Multiple Variance Analysis (MANOVA) tests. As a result of this research, , there were not significant differences between gender, age, income, sport age and education level and anxiety scores (p>0,05).
