Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between music consumption habits and violence tendency of Generation Z individuals. For this purpose, the study collected data from approximately 785 participants who could be reached from Generation Z age groups. For data collection, the 'Music Consumption Habits Determination Form' developed by the researcher according to music consumption habits and various demographic variables and the 20-item 'Violence Tendency Scale' developed by Özlem Haskan Avcı and İbrahim Yıldırım to measure the level of violence tendency were applied to the participants. The research is a descriptive research in the survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. Correlational method was also used in the research. The sample of the research consists of the number of participants who are studying in secondary and higher education institutions in Malatya province and can be reached. In the findings section, it was observed that the tendency to violence was higher in male participants and individuals born in 2006-2010. Those who listen to aggressive music genres such as rap and arabesque loudly have a high tendency to violence. It is recommended that ethical content analysis should be carried out in music education curricula, students should gain the ability to question the content and messages of the music they listen to, and music education should be started at an early age and made continuous.
