Abstract (EN)
The concept of time has always had a significant role in human being's life from past to present and further increases the importance of time to be a limited resource. For this reason, the determination of how people use their time is of great importance and the Time Use Survey (TUS) is needed for the research. The Time Use Survey provides detailed information about how people spend their time for daily or weekly activities. It also depicts how people use their time. The study aims to determine how individuals evaluate their leisure time and the effects of variable levels of gender, age, marital status etc. using Time Use Survey data for Turkey with Multivariate Probit Model. In this study variables representing how individuals evaluate their leisure time consist of four groups, such as traditional sports and nature sports, cultural activities, organizational activities and volunteer work. In this study, the second Time Use Survey data from the Turkey Statistical Institute was used in time interval from August 1st, 2014 to July 31st, 2015. The three data sets in the Time Use Survey are combined and data set consists of 7305 observations. Multivariate Probit Model was used in the analysis of the data.
