Özet (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the biochemical response of zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha), which was exposed to different concentrations of cadmium (Cd) for 96 hours. D. polymorpha organisms Water Pollution Control Regulation (SKKY), taking into consideration the availability rates in water quality classes, one control (0.00) 10 µg / L Cd, 20 µg / L Cd and 40 µg / L Cd groups were formed. In 4 groups including control group, changes in enzyme activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), Glutathione Reductase (GPx) and TBARS and GSH levels were determined by using ELISA kits. There was a statistically significant decrease in all three concentrations of D. polymorpha due to the application of SOD enzyme activity at 24 hours (p<0.05). CAT enzyme activity; there was no significant change in the overall application concentration (p> 0.05). In GPx enzyme activity; A significant increase was found after Cd administration compared to control (p<0.05). TBARS and GSH levels were significantly increased in all Cd administration groups at 24 and 96 hours compared to control. When the changes in SOD, CAT, GPx enzyme activities and TBARS and GSH levels in Cd D. polymorpha were evaluated, it was concluded that these biochemical responses could be used as biomarkers.
