Mukaddimetül Edeb "an Introduction to Adab" By Zamakhshari - the Tehran version which was translated into Ottoman language (sections a through d) ( including the introduction - the linguistic features- text translation- and glossary)

Zamakhshari's Mukaddimetü'l-Edeb "An Introduction to Adab" is considered one of the most important books in Turkish language just after A Record of the Turks Languages by kaşgari Mahmud. Zamakhshari wrote this book, which is a practical dictionary to teach Arabic, between the years 1127- 1144 and gifted it to Shah Khoarizm Atsiz. An Introduction to Literature is a book of great importance; thus it has been made in different versions in the different phases of Turkish language; having in each phase the linguistic features of the language used in it during its era. In this thesis, we have chosen the Tehran version which was translated into Ottoman language extracting the linguistic features of this version after having translated the text. Moreover, we have prepared a guidebook, a glossary, of the words used in the translated text identifying the origin of each word by using some abbreviations. The linguistic features of the Tehran version which was translated into the Ottoman language reflect those of this language itself. Zamakhshari's Mukaddimetü'l-Edeb has met a great attention among the Turkish linguists. Some of its versions were translated, and their linguistic elements have been extracted. Yet, the Tehran version which is the subject-matter of our study has not been studied by linguists; neither has it attracted due attention. After having given this version its due of study and translating the text and preparing the glossary of the words contained in it, we have collected books, dictionaries, and articles which highlight this subject-matter and arranged them as required in the sources and references' section. The Tehran version consists of 270 pages; and we have studied 120 pages of which starting from section A till section D. Some of the words were unintelligible to us, so we have put them between brackets and written them in the same way as written in the text in addition to our translation of them. Moreover, we have gathered them in the notes' section and provided our conjecture of them.
