Visit phenomena and religious visit places in Kastamonu provincial center

This research focused on the phenomenon of visiting in the context of folk religion, and tombs, which are religious visiting places in the city center of Kastamonu, were examined. A literature review was conducted adhering to the qualitative study method. In the research, data such as historical records, written documents, old photographs or any archival material that can shed light on the history of the place were used to understand the historical and cultural evolution of the places visited. Academic studies and publications on religious visits, folkloric studies, sociology of religion, anthropology and related fields were used to compile information on this subject. Sources such as news, articles, theses, books and websites and blogs in print or digital media have been used to understand the public perception of places to visit. As a result of the research, it was concluded that various historical and religious shrines in Kastamonu province have a deep impact on the local people and visitors. These tombs have spiritual value as places where important figures who lived in different periods are buried. In addition to visiting these shrines for touristic purposes, local people and visitors from outside the province also realize their various wishes and prayers in these sacred places. Kastamonu's shrines and religious pilgrimages constitute an important part of the region's religious and cultural heritage. Tombs and religious places of pilgrimage in Kastamonu are important areas for local people not only from a religious perspective, but also for coming together, sharing spiritual experiences and experiencing cultural accumulation. It is seen that the rituals and beliefs in the tombs were formed over time by combining with traditional and cultural values. It is observed that people bring together their wishes, their search for healing, and their desire for spiritual peace when they visit shrines. Votive offerings and donations made around the tombs also make a significant contribution to the social life of the region. Kastamonu's historical shrines and religious visiting points represent the deep cultural heritage of the region. These sacred places not only reflect history but are also considered special areas where people find spiritual peace. It is deemed necessary to discover this heritage, respect and protect historical riches, and pass them on to future generations.
