A review on Zonguldak community center Karaelmas magazine

Community Centers, one of the leading institutions in the history of the Repuplic, was established on February 19, 1932 in fourteen provincial centers in order to ensure the development of the people in all areas. Although their numbers increased over time, they had to be closed in 1951. People's Houses have an important place in history of literature with many publications in the process. People's Houses, which are based on teaching the principles, reforms and the benefits of the Republican regime to the public, become an indispensable part of education in every subject that concerns the individual. People's Houses operate in the fields of economic, social, cultural, political, health and education. It seeks answers to the needs of the people by putting the individual and society at the center. Protecting individuals who pursue different ideals, Community Centers aim to create a society that has reached the level of contemporary civilizations with strong individuals. People's Houses work to be "Language", Literature and History", "Fine Arts", "Sports", "Representation", "Social Aid", "Peasantism", "People's Schools and Courses", "Museums and Exhibitions", "Library and Publication". It runs in nine branches. Although each of them has a seperate function, the Language, Literature and History Branch is also important in terms of revealing the publication organs of the Community Centers. People's Houses find the opportunity to convey their gols to the public more easily through the boks, newspapers and magazines they publish. Karaelmas, the journal of the Zonguldak Community Center, becomes an example of this transfer with its activities. The publication life of Karaelmas, which started on April 13, 1938, ended on February 20, 1949. The journal is published in a total of forty-eight issues during this period. Signatures of important names of Turkish literature as well as local writers and people whose names were not frequently encountered before can be seen in the magazine. In general, poerty, stories, memoirs, letters, speeches and conference texts, translations, articles on geography, history and politics, articles on sports, health and law, articles on education and culture, articles on literature, especially Zonguldak Community Center. The are articles about other People's Houses. The content of the magazine is visually enriched with news, advertisements, advertisements and photographs. In this study, Karaelmas magazine published by Zonguldak Community Center was tried to be introduced with its general features. First of all, the development process of Community Centers and Zonguldak Community Center are mentioned. Afterwards, information was given about Karaelmas's publishing process, shape features, publication policiy, staff of writers and literary activities, and an index was made for the analysis of all the articles in the journal. The articles in the journal are classified according to their number, author's name, subject and types. As a result, it has been seen that Karaelmas operates as an art, idea and literature magazine.
