Abstract (EN)

In this study, austenitic based welding filler materials and S355J2 structural steel and SAE 4140, C45 QT (quenched and tempered) steels, which are widely used in the industry, were joined to Armox 500T armor steel by MIG/MAG welded manufacturing method. Welding defects and mechanical properties in the welded area were examined and comparisons were made in terms of weldability of QT (quenched and tempered) and structural steels to armor steel. While making comparisons, similar welding parameters were used for homogeneous condition throughout the process and the same shielding gas environments were provided. Samples, in order to provide accurate data in mechanical tests; It has been tested against possible welding defects by non-destructive testing methods such as visual inspection, penetrant inspection, and radiographic inspection. From destructive testing methods to the same samples according to the suitability of microstructures; In addition to tensile test, impact test, bending test, hardness test and macro/micro structure tests, SEM examination was also performed on fractured impact test and macro/micro samples. As good as not any discontinuity was detected in nondestructive examinations; The data obtained according to the suitability of the microstructures in the destructive and SEM examinations were also examined experimentally, and it was seen that the results were compatible with each other.
