The evaluation of branch teachers committee works in terms of management processes

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to reveal the level of realization of the management processes according to the views of high school teachers and whether the level of realization of the management processes change according to the demographic characteristics or not in the works of branch teachers committee. The universe of the research is composed of 497 teachers working in 7 Anatolian High Schools, 1 Science School and 1 Social Sciences School in 2014-2015 academic year in Efeler town of Aydın city, and the sample of the research is composed of 250 teachers determined from the universe by random sampling method. Data was gathered by "Evaluation scale of the branch teachers' studies in terms of management processes", prepared by the researcher, and "Personal information forms". While analyzing the data, from the parametric statistical techniques "Independent Sample t-test" and "Oneway ANOVA" were used. To analyze the data in the research, SPSS windows 21 software was used. According to the survey results, decision-making and planning, communication and controlling processes in the study of branch teachers exist at a very high level. On the other hand, organizing, coordinating and directing processes exist at a high level. In the study of branch teachers committee at the level of realization of directing process according to the seniority, between the teachers who have been working for 16-20 years and for over 26 years, there is a meaningful difference in favor of teachers who have been working for over 26 years. In the study of branch teachers committee at the level of realization of controlling process is in the favor of woman teachers according to the gender variable and according to the age level between the teachers who are 37-44 years old and the teachers who are 51 years old or older, it is in the favor of the teachers who are 51 years old or older and according to the seniority between the teachers who have worked for 15 years or under and have been working for 26 years or more, there is a meaningful difference in favor of the teachers who have been working for 26 years or more. In the study of branch teachers committee, a significant difference has been seen in favor of the teachers who think branch teachers committee studies contribute to the teachers professional development and the academic success of school at the level of realization of management processes.
