Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to synthesize and examine the structural properties of hybrid polyurethane structures with antibacterial and antifouling properties suitable for biomedical applications. In line with these goals, firstly, hybrid polyurethanes with two different structures were synthesized with two different isocyanates using polyethylene glycol 8000 (PEG 8000), 2,2-bis (hydroxymethyl) propionic acid (DMPA), triethylamine (TEA) and 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES). Following, 1,3-propane sulton (1,3-PS) modifications were made on these polyurethane structures at 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. In this way, eight different zwitterionic hybrid polyurethane structures were obtained. The synthesized polyurethanes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and elemental analysis. Thermal properties were determined by differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The surface properties were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray analyzer (EDX). Depending on the modification of the synthesized structures, an increase in the sulfur content was determined. In addition, the polyurethane structure in semi crystalline formation transformed into amorphous formation with modification. In addition, the film properties also improved with this transformation.
