Technology roadmap for Kuveyt Turk mobile banking

Mobile Banking refers to provision and availability of banking and financial services with the help of mobile telecommunication devices. The scope of offered services may include facilities to conduct bank and stock market transactions, to administer accounts and to access customized information (Tiwari, R. , Buse, S. and Herstatt, 2007a). In other words, mobile banking offers the possibility to use e-banking (electronic banking or internet banking) services via a mobile phone. However, the major difference between an electronic and mobile transaction, highlighted by the prefixes "e" and "m", is that electronic banking offers "anytime access", while mobile banking offers "anytime and anywhere access" for business transactions. Therefore, customers using mobile banking have a greater flexibility than users of electronic banking. Almost all the banks are giving service from lots of channels like ATMs, online via internet, call centers, kiosks, etc. Banking industry requires high availability, systems continuity and minimum downtime on services. Especially for distribution channels the business computing needs have reached maximum levels of availability. So that the mobile is also becoming most popular channel for banks. Therefore nowadays finding the technology roadmap for mobile banking is very important. It is important for banks evaluating various options keeping in mind that business and technology objectives which each bank wishes to achieve. The aim of this thesis is giving a general overview of the mobile telecommunication sector. In addition, it will be a review of different mobile technologies. As a result, a technology roadmap is given to reach high quality in the latest technology. In this thesis, priority matrix is used for planning the technology roadmap. With this method, prioritization between constituents can be done successfully. The aim of the technology roadmap provides a plan in order to reach short-term and long-term goals by giving specific technology solutions. The current plans for a new product or process, or an emerging technology is involved in the roadmap. Developing a roadmap has three major benefits. First, technology roadmap helps reaching a consensus to a set of needs and the technologies required to satisfy those needs. Secondly, it provides a mechanism to forecast technology developments and finally it provides a framework to plan and coordinate technology developments.

Kuveyt Türk payment systems technology roadmap

With the spread of computers and internet, we have witnessed a technologic revolution in financial markets. Payment systems became one of the profitable market in both Turkey and the world thanks to the information technology (IT). The remarkable evolutions have been made on payment systems due to the development of information technology in the world. In Addition, rapid developments in technological products are confronting traditional banks with major challenges. Competition in Turkey payment system market has also increased in these days. Therefore, most banks in turkey aim to increase their profitability and customer numbers by following technology trends and making investments on research and development (R&D). Some of technology trends have been applied to Kuveyt Turk Payment Systems. However, some have not been applied to payment systems in Kuveyt Turk yet. Aim of thesis study is; • to observe current structure of Kuveyt Turk Payment Systems, • to find key gaps and opportunities in the current payment environment both Turkey and the world, • to help capturing these opportunities for future of Kuveyt Turk Payment Systems, • to help determining potential strategies and tactics to shape the future of the Kuveyt Turk Payment System, • to develop technology road map by making using of SWOT and QSPM that are used as strategic planning tools. Kuveyt Türk bt'de scrum adaptasyonu

In today's world flexibility and speed are very important. Waterfall models can't satisfy this. Since that agile methodologies become popular. Scrum is one of the agile methodologies and it is adopted by many companies like Microsoft, Yahoo, Intel, BBC etc. Scrum methodology guarantees these: • Increasing in the quality of deliverables • Flexible structure. • Better planning estimations. • Proactive approach for coming problems. • Team motivation Kuveyt Turk as a bank competitor wants being more effective and more flexible for product creation process. Quality is also important for a bank which aims being in 10 top banks of Turkey in the coming years. Using scrum methodology can accelerate the achievement of its goals. This paper searches "Is scrum methodology suitable for Kuveyt Turk or is not? How it will be effective?" In this context this research includes literature review, output analysis of a questionnaire, an interview, a study about burn-down charts and performance analysis made using focus factor which is accepted as a key performance index of scrum. Literature Review includes scrum terminology, case studies and information about Kuveyt Turk IT. Case studies which were examined show that scrum methodology needs behavior change in the work so that it needs also time. Adoption is a process that evolves in time. These are the key areas for scrum adoption: - Team adoption - Management support - Business support Questionnaire and interview was made accordance with these 3 subjects. To see the team adoptions, burn-down charts of 2 teams are dealt and improvement is observed through the 5 sprints. Velocity and Focus factor was used as key performance indexes. How team's performance increases and the other results were discussed in part 5 and conclusion chapter.
