ABSTRACT: By exploring the Position-dependent mass Von Roos Hamiltonian under cylindrical coordinates settings, we discuss the separation of variables of Schrödinger equation. Two radial masses of a coulomb-type and a harmonic oscillator-type are considered, and the effects of various z-dependent interaction potentials on the spectra are studied. Keywords: Power-law potential, Position dependent-masses, cylindrically symmetric settings, exactly solvable models. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Intelligence has several mental functions such as perceiving, memorizing, learning, thinking, abstracting and adapting to new conditions (Aydin, Leblebici, Arslan, Kilic & Oktem, 2005). Emotional intelligence was described as the attend to, ability to, understand and regulate emotions to lead thought and behavior (Salovey & Mayer, 1990 as cited in Alegre, 2011). In the current study, we examined the associations of physical / emotional abuse and neglect, perceived parental style and self-esteem with emotional intelligence. A total of 250 4th and 5th grade primary school children were recruited for the study from twelve public primary school in Northern Cyprus and at home based by using personal contacts. Participants filled four questionnaires; Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale – Child and Adolescent Form, Child Abuse Scale, Parental Attitude Scale and Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory. It was found that self-esteem and perceived authoritative attitude of parents significantly predicted emotional intelligence of 4th and 5th grade primary school children. Emotional abuse and perceived authoritarian attitude of parents were significant negatively correlated with emotional intelligence. However, emotional neglect and also, age, gender, mother education level and father education level were found to have absence of prediction role on emotional intelligence. In addition, physical abuse and neglect were not assessed in this current study because of their reliability analysis’ results. Based on these findings, further recommendations were presented. Keywords: Emotional intelligence, physical / emotional abuse, physical / emotional neglect, authoritative / authoritarian parental style, self-esteem.
Phosphorous is an effective and essential mineral nutrient for the growth of biological creatures and it is very necessary for functioning of ecosystems normally. However, the increase in the usage of phosphorous in lots of parts including industry, agricultural and municipalities causes to pollution of water bodies. Additionally, consumption of water which is rich in content of phosphorous can cause to decrease in the levels of calcium amount of blood and that can result in osteoporosis, hyperphosphatemia and hazard public health. For protection of human health and aquatic ecosystems, the amount of phosphorous should be controlled within the limits (<0.5 mg/L as it has been reported by World health organization). The removal of phosphorous from water bodies relies mostly on the adsorbents usage which are effective. In this study, chitosan-alginate hydrogel beads were prepared by mixing chitosan and sodium alginate solution together and dropping them into calcium chloride solution. Sodium alginate and chitosan mixture causing interpenetrated network improves the resistance of the beads in acidic mediums. For characterization of beads SEM and FTIR analysis were conducted to prove the presence of functional groups and calcium ions which has the main effect in phosphate adsorption. Additionally, UV spectroscopy method was used to study adsorption capacity which illustrated that with increasing adsorbent concentration and time, the amount of adsorbed phosphate increase considerably.
This study was conducted with the aim of exploring a previously understudied role of internalized racism and Black female Stereotypes (the Sapphire and Superwoman) in encouraging the perpetuation of intimate partner violence (IPV) within the African community, in addition to more well-known factors such as ambivalent sexism and religiosity. Currently, it is the first experimental study into the hypothesis that internalized racism and endorsement of Black female stereotypes are not only strongly positively correlated with violence, but also act as significant positive predictors of individual attitudes towards Intimate Partner Violence alongside hostile sexism and religiosity. It was also hypothesized that there would be gender differences between scores, as male participants would score higher on the more overtly antagonistic measures (hostile sexism and Sapphire stereotype endorsement) while female participants would score higher on subjectively benign measures (benevolent sexism and Superwoman stereotype endorsement). The findings revealed that, while these hypotheses were largely supported by the results – with internalized racism being the strongest predictor of IPV attitudes amongst both genders – religiosity was unexpectedly found to be a negative predictor of IPV, especially in women. These results are discussed further in the literature. Keywords: Ambivalent Sexism, Stereotype, Sapphire, Superwoman, African, Intimate Partner Violence, Islam, Christianity, Religiosity
ABSTRACT: This thesis consists of five chapters. The first Chapter gives general information about the thesis. In the second Chapter, some preliminaries and auxilary results that are used throughout the thesis are given. The original parts of the thesis are Chapters 3, 4 and 5 which are established from [35], [46] and [48]. In Chapter three, extended 2D Bernoulli and 2D Euler polynomials are introduced. Moreover, some recurrence relations are given. Differential, integrodifferential and partial differential equations of the extended 2D Bernoulli and the extended 2D Euler polynomials are obtained by using the factorization method. The special cases reduces to differential equation of the usual Bernoulli and Euler polynomials. Note that the results for the usual 2D Euler polynomials are new. In Chapter four, we consider Hermite-based Appell polynomials and give partial differential equations of them. In the special cases, we present the recurrence relation, differential, integro-differential and partial differential equations of the Hermite-based Bernoulli and Hermite-based Euler polynomials. In Chapter five, introducing k-times shift operators, factorization method is generalized. The differential equations of the Appell polynomials are obtained. For the special case k = 2, differential equation of Bernoulli and Hermite polynomials are exhibited. Keywords: 2D Bernoulli polynomial, 2D Euler polynomial, extended 2D Bernoulli polynomial, extended 2D Euler polynomial, Hermite-based Appell polynomials, factorization method. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

We study the possibility of constructing \ thin-shell wormhole (TSW) in a particular 𝑓(𝑅)-gravity model coupled minimally with nonlinear electromagnetic fields. In doing so, first we give a new static spherically symmetric solution of the theory. Then we apply the cut-and-paste method to construct the TSW. As (the third order derivative with respect to 𝑅) 𝑓′′′(𝑅)≠0 we use the specific junction conditions to match the two spacetimes. We find the exact equilibrium radius of the shell from non-black hole solution and show that a linear perturbation leaves the TSW stable. Keywords: 𝑓(𝑅) gravity, thin-shell wormhole, junction conditions, non-linear electrodynamics, stability.
In recent years, intensive research efforts have been committed to studying Am-phiphilic polymers, particularly in the pharmaceutical applications. These polymers have ability to form a different macromolecular architecture in the aqueous solution such as polymeric micelles. Novel combshaped, chiral and fluorescent amphiphilic polymers are important for pharmaceutical applications including hydrophobic drug solubilization. In this thesis, four chiral, combshaped and fluorescent novel amphiphilic polymers were synthesized from chitosan and perylene diimide. The compounds were analyzed using FTIR, UV-vis and Emission spectroscopy.
ABSTRACT: We study the waves spread in the media, non-linear and non-homogeneous is basic and widespread Problem in physics, which is the subject of our research. We derive the equation of Maxwell for the wave equation based on the z axis and y and find General solutions to the wave equation. We used some of the methods and mathematical processes for the wave equation to be as (hyper-geometric differential equation), and then to be easy to find general solutions to the two parts, the first as a coefficient of permittivity function of y, and the second as a constant.
