Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of a 10-week ski training program on the biomotoric characteristics of adolescent ski athletes. A total of 30 people participated in the study voluntarily. Study groups consisted of two groups. Which are beginner skiers (Control Group) and experienced skiers [(Training Group, n=15, age=11.86±0.51years, height=156.81±6.01cm, body weight=45.10±6.39kg, bki=18.38±2.77kg/m2); (Control Group, n=15, age=12.40±0.63years, height=152.66±5.83cm, body weight=46.77±9.42kg, BMI=19.97±3.27kg/ m2)]. Both the training and control groups performed ski-specific training 3 days a week for 10 weeks. Before and afterthe 10-week training sessions, pre￾post tests were applied to evaluate the biomotoric features of the volunteer participants (Flamingo Balance, Hand Grip, Reaction, Flexibility, Vertical Jump, SpeedTests). Paired￾sample T-test wasused to evaluate within-group pre-test and post-test. Independent sample t-test wasused for the pretest-posttest differences between the groups. A mixed design Anova was used to observe time x group interaction differences. The significance level was evaluated as p<0.05. According to the results of the Control Group Paired Sample T Test, between the pre-test and post-test; Statistically significant differences were found in Flexibility and Hand Grip Strength (Right Hand) variables. According to the results of the Training Group Paired Sample T Test, between the pre-test and post-test; Statistically significant differences were found in the variables of Balance (BipedalStance), Reaction Time, Hand Grip Strength (Right and Left Hand). Statistically significant difference was found in Balance (Left Foot) and Reaction time in terms of Time x Group interaction. Based on the seresults, it can be said that different training methods applied positively affect the biomotoric characteristics of both beginner and experienced skiers.
