Abstract (EN)

From the first silent movie produced in 1890 until today, it can be seen that the cinema is in a economical, social, cultural and ideologic position. Especially the first oriental stereotypes and construtctions which started with short movies like ? The Dance of The Seven Veils? (1893), ?Fatima Dances? (1896), and ?Arab? (1897) show that cinema has been used as an ideological instrument.Hollywood, which is known as American cinema, is a platform which described different stereotype representative, represents an industry that constructs ifself new. After 1990, in this study which deals with the concentration of the American cinema upon arabia/moslems, the research of other presentations that where made in movies about what happened after the 11th september 2001 in the USA was targeted and and from the fact of "the others" it was tried to explain the connection between "easts/arabs/moslems" and oriental thinking. After the 11th September (9/11) from the fact that "war agains terror" brought a new cultural circulation through Hoolywoods political-action movies, the representation of this circulation of political-action movies like The Kingdom (2007) and The Hurt Locker (2008) was evaluated. In this film, which have been analized, public opinion of ?East/Arab/Muslim? and controversal public opinions like ?Western/Hero/We?, were solved according to the statement analysis. The solution results showed that, both the ideolohic dimension of movie dialogs and image, and for character describtion and locality portration played a big role in ?other? reprensentation. It was found that the stereotypes in the oryantalist statement, where open or closed for the construction of the sample movies, it was seen that eastern types and eastern construction was supportet by ?threat and enemy? metaphors.
