Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of perceived parental attitudes on self-perception and resilience of adolescents aged between 12-14 years, according to some variables. In this research, the data were gathered from the students of Istanbul's Esenler district. 250 people voluntarily participated in the survey. Resilience scale of children and adolescents, social comparison inventory, perceived parental attitudes scale and personal information form were used as data collection tools in the study. Findings were obtained using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, correlation, as well as regression analysis. In the study, a significant relationship was identified between perceived parental attitudes and resilience, and self-perception. It is concluded that a democratic parental attitude has positive impacts on the resilience and self-perception of the adolescents. The parental attitude scores, self-perception and resilience scores were compared according to demographic variables (sex, age, number of siblings, education level of parents, parent's age, economic income, number of close friends of the individual) in order to observe whether the results of these scores change as a result of a change in these variables. The results of the study are discussed in the light of the related literature and the recommendations are included. Keywords: Parental attitude, resilience, self-perception, adolescence
