Abstract (EN)

Considering the digital parenting awareness, the relationship between the level of internet addiction of working mothers who have children at the age of 15-18 and the level of internet addiction of their child were examined. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the parent's internet addiction level affects their child's internet addiction level. This study is consisted of 183 children between the ages of 15-18 and their mothers. 183 people who agreed to participate in the survey through online surveys were asked to answer the 'Demographic Data Form', the 'Digital Parenting Attitude Scale' and the 'Internet Addiction Scale of Parent-Child'. By directing the survey questions to the participants, the effects of digital parenting attitude and the relationship between the level of parental internet addiction and their child's internet addiction were examined. The data obtained in the study were analyzed with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 25.0 Program. In the evaluation of the data, descriptive statistical methods (number, percent, min-max values, mean deviation and standard deviation) were used. "Reliability Analysis" was performed to test the reliability of the scales. According to the results of the study, a statistically significant difference was obtained between parental internet addiction and the child's internet addiction level. A significant difference was obtained between the level of digital parenting awareness and the level of parental internet addiction. A significant difference was also obtained between digital parenting awareness and a child's internet addiction. However, there was no statistically significant difference between the child's internet addiction level and the mother's age, the mother's education level and the family's income. It was found that while the child's internet addiction was affected by the mother's internet addiction and digital awareness, the mother's age, education level and family income did not make a significant difference.
