Abstract (EN)

It is believed that this thesis which surveys the sleeve shapes of ladies clothing in 16th century, will be a guide for new designs of sleeve forms. Accordingly, in order to give a historical back ground, it is examined both sleeve forms, patterns and art works which were used from 14th century to 21st century. Also, it is done a historical research in order to understand the social structure of that period. Furthermore, it is given the essential sleeve patterns by considering the thesis needs a technical platform. Finally, it is shown new designs to provide a basis for new ideas in chapter 5.
