Abstract (EN)

In this dissertation, which reviews and evaluates the administrative, economic and socio-cultural structure of Antalya city between the years of 1879?1883, Antalya şer?iyye sicil defteri (Courtl Registry Book) nr. XVII has been utilized as main source.Late XIX Century was a period when foreign political balances had already counted against Ottoman Empire. Whereas the shift in world politics externally along with disruption and recession the Empire had been undergoing in almost every field was pulling it towards an absolute dissolution, the Ottoman ruling power internally had been seeking remedies for this situation through radical efforts since the Tanzimat Reform Era.Antalya of the years of 1879?1883 is among the Ottoman cities which, in many aspects, bear traces of this dramatic change having initiated with the Tanzimat Era. On the other hand, nomadic-yoruk culture of which traces are visible almost in every aspect of life including names of objects, sobriquets and names of residential areas, are the most striking evidence that Central Asian cultural heritage was still resistibly conserved.
