Abstract (EN)
Events that offer glimpses into human life have been sought after throughout history because they provide insights into various aspects of societies. This information is sought from various archival documents and historical sources. By examining one such source, the Sharia court records, it is possible to uncover the unknown aspects of a city. This study examines the city of Konya, the district center of the Konya Sanjak of the Karaman Province of the Ottoman Empire. Indeed, it has been observed that studies conducted using kadi records within the discipline of architecture have so far been focused on urban studies. Throughout the research, it was aimed to reveal the analysis of the neighborhoods in the city; green/empty spaces, residences, shops and their location, neighborly relations, tree-product presence, service areas, surrounding foundation properties, sales profiles; number and types of floors of the residences, spatial features, typologies; foundation buildings; streets and their layout; neighborhood formation and to discuss the obtained data. In this context, neighborhoods within the city were identified, and green spaces, residences, and shops were comprehensively analyzed. The number and types of floors of the residences, as well as their spatial characteristics, were determined, housing typologies were identified, research was conducted on foundation locations, street layouts were established, neighborhood formation was described, and all the data obtained were discussed. Thus, 17th-century Konya neighborhoods and property areas were examined and evaluated, along with all the elements that shaped the neighborhood.
