Abstract (EN)
Several factors make Turkistan uniquely important for world history. Among them it can be said the following factors: this region at the heart of Eurasia, its role on the Silk Road, and a frontier region between Iranian cultural area with its sedentary life and nomadic civilization of Inner Asia. In this study, it is discussed the Amirate of Bukhara and excerpted a date between years of 1800-1865, in the ?longest century? of history of Turkestan.In this research, firstly it is tried the amirate to be familiar through giving geographical and historical background. Then, it is attempted to examine the political history of the Amirate of Bukhara as well as her situation and followed politics during the process of Russian occupation. In this framework, firstly it is dealt with main political developments in the times of Amir Haidar (1800?1826), Amir Hussein (1826), Amir Umar (1826?1827), Amir Nasrallah (1827?1860) and Amir Muzafferaddin (first five years: 1860?1865). Among them, it can be counted their attempts to seize the crown, the civil wars which broke out among the sons of the late monarch, amirs? struggle with rebellions happened within the country, economic developments, relations with neighbouring khanates and other states.After that, in the process paved way to the Russian Occupation, it is investigated policies of the Bukharan Amirs and the defeat against Russia through explaining the change in legitimization system of the Bukharan Amirate and its effects, situation of the army, perception of education and main features of the universities (madrasas), development in trade and its impacts, relations with neighbouring khanates, and also the Ottoman Empire and Britain.
