The Revolution of 1848 and France

This study focuses on the important political developments that took place between 1815 and 1852 within the framework of the intellectual currents and living conditions that influenced French society. The Revolutions, which are one of the most important events in French history, didn't stop in 1789 for the French, but caused the spirit of 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternity' to be re-ignited in 1830 and 1848, first with the bourgeoisie and then with the working class. The winds of socialism were added to the winds of liberalism and republicanism on the continent, after the Revolution of 1830, especially with the idea of the classlessness that it defended, it became popular among the working class and became a frightening dream not only for the governments of the state but also for the social classes. The Revolution of 1848, which was formed around these movements in the first half of the 19th century, although it was not as long-term and effective as expected, made the greatest contribution to the entry of true defenders of the people in the French political arena. The main sources of this study, which consists of three chapters, an introduction and a conclusion are newspapers, reports and secondary sources in French and also English. These works show that not only for the French, but for all nations, the impact of the mechanization of life after the Industrial Revolution has not been as beneficial as expected. These impacts reached their peak particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries and got worse with bad harvests and economic crises, bringing about the gap between nations and governments. In history, this gap has been marked by famine, bad living and working standards, movements of ideas and violent revolutions.
