Abstract (EN)

The Kemalist ideology predicates upon six main principles; republicanism, populism, nationalism, laicism, statism and revolutionism. Republicanism was constructed on the principles of populism which was used as a conveyor of the Kemalist ideology to the masses. The Ülkü Periodical published by the Ankara People's Houses, played a critical role in indoctrinating the public with populism and for its internalisation by the Turkish public. This work focuses on the in depth analysis of the fundamental doctrines-teachings of populism and its dissamination to the masses through the Ülkü Periodicals since the declaration of the Republican period and thereafter. The Ülkü Peridicals played a deternining mission in conceptualisation and inculcation of the Kemalist regime's populist principles. The main mission of Ülkü was to establish the Kemalist regime on a sure footing, acting as a spearhead carrier of the Republican populist doctrines, based on classnessness, aggregation and public nurturing.
