Abstract (EN)

Second Congress of Turkish History held at Dolmabahçe Palace in 1937, was the first international organization of these congresses. During the Second Congress, at the Celebration Hall of Dolmabahçe Palace, an exhibition was organized by Turkish Historical Society that aimed to present material evidences for the Turkish History Thesis. The exhibition began with the earliest period of Prehistory, continued with Bronze Age, Iron Age, Greek, Roman and Byzantine Periods, Cultures of Central Asia and Steppes, Cultural Area of Seljuks, Ottoman Period, Turkish Arts of Calligraphy and Illumination and Turkish Republic subsequently. Exhibition ended with section of Republic of Turkey's achievements as it was by the year 1937. Sections for different periods were organized by separate experts and each section consisted of a combination of artefacts within showcases, photographs, drawings, maps and reconstructions hung on walls, and open exhibits of large artefacts, replicas, and models.
