Brief content analysis of nationalist journals published between 1939-1943 (Bozkurt, Gökbörü, Tanrıdağ, Türk Amacı, Türklük)

In this study, content analyzes of some magazines that took part in the Turkish press life in the first years of the republic and followed a publishing policy within the framework of nationalist ideology were made. The magazines named Bozkurt, published in 16 issues, Gökbörü, published in 13 issues, Tanrıdağ, published in 18 issues, Türk Amacı, published in 8 issues, and finally Türklük, published in 15 issues, are some of the magazines with national content published in Turkey between 1939-1943 and are the same. They are also the main sources of this study. When the identities of both the concessionaires and editors-in-chief of the magazines are examined, it is understood that almost all of them are important figures who think on a nationalist line and even defend the Turkish national ideology, and that some of them are foreign Turks who immigrated to Turkey later (or are related to them). When the printing places of nationalist magazines are examined, it is seen that the majority of them were published in Istanbul and Ankara, while some of them were published in various provinces of the country such as Konya, Zonguldak, Kayseri, Adana, Izmir, Sivas, Eskişehir and Afyonkarahisar. All of the above-mentioned journals, which constitute the main sources of this study, were published in Istanbul and correspond to approximately 70 issues in total. During the thesis process, these magazines were classified and compared among themselves in terms of content and related topics, and analysis was made, and the political and socio-economic situation of that period was tried to be determined through the articles in the magazines.
