Abstract (EN)

After the Republic of Türkiye adopted a multi-party system and became democratized, it encountered military intervention at frequent intervals. There were many interventions starting from the 1960 coup until the July 15 coup attempt and the political instability prevented the Turkish economy from following long-term programs and economic problems and crises became recurring. After the 1960 Coup and the 1980 Coup, which were planned coups carried out by soldiers leaving te barracks, the government was overthrown, the system was changed and the economic policies implemented were changed. Rather economic policies, political decisions, terrorist acts and political decisions of military institutions have also been effective on the performance of the Turkish economy. Whether the July 15 coup attempt, which was tried to be carried out in the same way as these coups but could not be concluded as desired and was suppressed with the support of the public, had any impact on the economy like other coups, was examined with macroeconomic indicators. This study, which was created with the assumption that the coups that werw tried to be legitimized based on the bad course economy and the existence of a crisis environment, did not show a long-term improvement in the economy after they werw carried out, was prepared by the literature review method.
