Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to compare the theme structures of 6th grade Turkish textbooks according to the 1981, 2005 and 2018 Turkish programs and to determine and compare their differences and similarities. Since this study tried to search the literature and determine the situation related to the scans, the method and screening method were used in the research. According to the 1981 Turkish Teaching Program, MEB, Yıldırım, Özyürek; According to the 2005 Turkish Teaching Program MEB, Koza and Evren Publications; According to the 2018 Turkish Teaching Program, Eksen Publications 6th grade Turkish textbooks were discussed. When the textbooks prepared according to the Turkish Programs of 1981, 2005 and 2018 were examined in general, more text, themes and sub-themes were encountered in the textbooks of the 1981 Turkish Program. However, the number of text, themes and sub-themes decreased in the textbooks prepared according to 2005 and the number of text, themes and sub-themes increased in the textbooks prepared according to 2018. Since books suitable for the 2005 and 2018 programmes were mostly not used visual elements in listening texts, a greater number of 'partially appropriate' texts were identified than in 1981. Textbooks listening texts do not include visuals that reflect the content. There are more well-known authored works in textbooks in accordance with 1981. It is thought that by increasing the number of texts and themes, the target audience will be better prepared for life and the use of visuals that support the message in listening texts as well as in reading texts may give an opportunity for a better understanding of the theme. Unlike previous programs in the 2018 program, the inclusion of such genres as email, guides, comics, advertising is thought to be beneficial in terms of genre diversity. In the basic principles of Turkish National Education of the National Education Law No. 1739, "course programs of all degrees and types are continuously developed according to scientific and technological principles and innovations, environment and country needs." is called (Resmî Gazete, 1973: 2342). Nevertheless, there is a distribution of themes that put everything on the basis of beauty and a positive outlook and understanding. The scope of themes and sub-themes should be expanded by considering the negative situations that the target audience may face in life, and themes such as democracy, trade, economy and bad habits should be included considering the needs.
