The statergres of primary school conflict management and how it effects the teachers stress levels

This study is aimed to determine the conflict management style of the school principles and the impact of these styles to the stress levels of the teachers. The data is collected from the questonaires applied on randomly chosen primary school teachers in Kütahya-Simav.In the first section of the research including five parts; problem,purpose,importance,limitations and definitions take place. In the second section it is given part to conceptual framework and related research.In the third section techniques,research mode,universe and sample,data collection tool,validity and reliability study of the questionaire,resolution and interpretation of the data take place.In the fourth section findings and interpretations;in the fifth and the last section results and suggestions take place.The data is resolved, commented on and reported through statistical techniques, such as frequency, percentage, mean, annova and correlation.The findings of the study could be summarized as follows: school principles, while dealing with conflicts, which appear between teachers and school principles, mostly use integration ,then in order compromise, avoidance, compensation and leastly use domination styles. Stress levels of teachers have a negative relation with integration, compensation, avoidance and compromise, positive relation with domination. It is understood that female teachers according to male teachers perceive that school principles use mostly domination styles. The style which creates the most stress is domination style, which creates the least stress is compromise style.Key words: Conflict, Conflict Management, Conflict Management Styles, Stress.
