Abstract (EN)

The constructions in our country must be resistant to earthquakes as there are yığma constructions being used much more. There are different methods to determine the eartquake behaviour of constructions. . One of these methods is testing the current construction technic?s accuracy with earthquake simulators. As on eartquakes, simulator applies dynamic horizontal and vertical loads to small scaled construction models. The directon controlled electromechanic simulator, which is designed for Yıldız Technical University, will take its place in the laboratory soon. Simulator, also called shocking table, is designed for examining the behaviours of construction models? behaviours during the earthquakes just as the riginal ones. Simulator is made up of horizontal movement platform, scissors mechanism for the vertical movement, engine and electronical circuits to control the engine, drivers and control computer. The construction models which are scaled and convenient with the original sizes are being positioned on the table of the simulator and earthquake vibrations which happened before or being planned are loaded to the simulator with computer placed in and earthquake vibrations are being applied to the model and the affects on the construction are being recorded by the sensors..By this we observe the affect of the vibrations on costructions and obtain various paramters.. With these parameters we analyze the behaviour of the construction during the earthquakes. . This allows us to design systems and find solutions to make constructions more resistant. In this study, there is an application of earthquake simulator which has been designed with modern methods that can move on two axis. This application includes the mechanical design and control of an earthquake simulator. Keywords:Earthquake, earthquake simulator, shaking table, sismik
