Abstract (EN)

In this study, we tried to evaluate Modern Kazakh Story in the mentioned era through a text based approach. What we mean by "the early Twentieth Century" is the period between the years of 1905 and just before the outbreak of the World War II. In this period, the part until 1920 is named "Alash Era" in Kazakh History. After Soviet imperium, in the following two ten-year periods, at the ends of 20's and 30's; Stalin's "intellectuals massacre" or "repressiya policy" was wildly applied all over the Turkic republics which had been a part of the Soviet Union. Along this duration, Kazakh litterateurs witness World War I; October Revolution; Russian Civil War and Soviet control over Kazakhstan, alongside the primitive conditions of Kazakh people. Throughout the stories studied in this thesis, we chased the signs of this historical background. In the Prologue, we mentioned about the history of Kazakh people and Kazakhstan. Then, we mentioned about the Kazakh Traditional (Oral) Literature and how the Modern Kazakh Literature had grown. In the First chapter, we talked about the beginning of the Modern Kazakh Story and then we told the biographies of early 20. Century's important story writers. In the Second chapter we studied and analyzed 13 stories which were written in that period. And in the Third chapter, we handled how the political and social conditions had effected the literature. Finally, in the Epilogue, we wrote our general comments and ideas regarding to the era and the works we have analyzed.
