Medical tourism is a kind of tourism in which patient travels to another destination for medical and wellness services to cure and recovery. Medical tourism is a growing phenomenon and it is becoming more and more important in the whole world. Whith the improvement of transportation and communication infrastructure, growing of leuisure time and rise of mass tourism people started moving to other destinations domestic and abroad to get medical care either because of limited treatment options or high costs in their own country. This is the underlying cause of medical tourism. Because it is a new market and it holds a critical position both in developed and devoloping countries, to be able to get bigger share from this emerging market countries are competing with each other. Turkey has a huge potential for medical tourism. To get the biggest share it deserves Turkey needs more investment and more advertising.
