The relationship of the match running distances and technical parameters of Turkish Sport Toto Super League teams in the 2018-2019 season with the score ranking at the end of the season

Objective: This study was planned and carried out with the aim of examining the relationship of the match running distances and technical parameters of the teams in the Turkish Super League with the league point at the end of the season and determining the effect of these parameters on the league point. Method: In the Turkish Super League, data of 306 matches played by 18 teams competing in the 2018-2019 season were obtained through Sentio and 11 physical and technical performance variables were evaluated. Correlation analysis for the relationship between the variables obtained and point was performed with the aim of procedural point variable using these variables. Results: Positive direction between point and total running distance with the ball, a significant, moderate correlation (r=0.650, p=0.003), a positive, significant, high relationship between point and number of accurate passes (r=0.710; p=0.001), point and accuracy were also found to have a positive, significant, moderate correlation (r=0.647, p=0.004).It was determined that there was no correlation between the point and the total running distance, high intensity running distance, high intensity running distance with the ball, sprint distance with the ball, percentage of ball play in the first, second and third regions (p>0.050).The point decreases by 3.45 as the ratio of high-intensity running distance with the ball to the total high intensity running distance increases by 1 kilometer (p=0.050), the point increases by 2.38 as the ratio of the sprint distance with the ball to the sprint distance increases by 1 kilometer (p=0.021).1 pass increase in the number of accurate passes will increase the point by 0.12 (p=0.045).A 1-shot increase in the number of hits increases the point by 5.70 (p=0.019). Conclusion: As a result, from the physical and technical parameters evaluated; the ratio of high-intensity running distance with the ball to total high intensity running distance, ratio of sprint distance with the ball to sprint distance, number of accurate passes and number of accurate shots have had a meaningful effect on the league point.
