Abstract (EN)

In this study, according to the 2018 Turkey earthquake Building Regulations building height and its effect on the local ground class seismic loads were investigated. Considering that the buildings are in the same parcel, the earthquake loads were evaluated by considering five different soil classes (ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD, ZE) and four different building heights (BYS8, BYS7, BYS6, BYS5). This method was chosen because the BYS and DTS class of the building includes the Equivalent Earthquake Load in the selection of the earthquake calculation method. While the results of earthquake forces are expected to increase as the ground group decreases, it has been determined that some ground classes and building heights remain in certain intervals. The reason for these complex results has been observed that the horizontal elastic spectral accelerations that are effective in the earthquake force calculation of the structure are effective. For this reason, the effects of horizontal elastic spectral accelerations on the earthquake force in buildings together with the ground classes and building heights were evaluated. In the findings obtained, as the ground bearing strength of the building decreases (from ZA to ZE), the earthquake forces that occur in the buildings increase. However, as the height of the building increases, the horizontal elastic acceleration decreases, so it has been observed that the earthquake force does not always increase as the ground bearing capacity decreases depending on the height of the building. In the evaluation of earthquake loads, it was determined that the results in ZA and ZB ground classes are close to each other. In the calculations made, it was determined by calculations that the highest increase in earthquake forces was in the ground class ZE and BYS= 5.
