Abstract (EN)
In this study, family constituting the core and the greatest Dynamics of the society was tackled with. In the final period of Ottoman Empire, in Seydişehir, the features of family, and the applications of various lawsuits such as marriage, alimony assessment, divorce, muhala'a, debt and heritage cases and how they were solved were revealed setting off Sharia Court Records. The structure and functions of villages and districts in Seydişehir which make up the samples of Ottoman social life in micro history sense were studied. The documents generally have lawsuit cases such as heritage, debt, divorce, marriage, and alimony and bride wealth. How the cases were finalized and the solutions that were recommended in the courts were brought to light. Setting what the basic consumption goods were and what kinds of crops were grown, tangible information was received about economic life of Seydişehir. At the end of this study, it was strived to reveal the documents which could set light to law, economic, social, administrative and family history of Ottoman State and indirectly to the history of Seydişehir. Not only in the field of trade, agriculture and animal breeding but also the order created between the communities living in the Ottoman state was witnessed. The classification of the settlement places connected to Seydişehir and documents taking place in 230 Numbered Book were concentrated on. In conclusion, in the light of the data to be obtained from this study, the social and economic structure of Seydişehir will come to light and it will be possible to let the information about Ottoman history be utilized by researchers as a contribution.
