Abstract (EN)

The labor of machines in today's industry plays a big role in our daily lives and our business lives, and without a doubt the importance of electrical energy becomes prominent. With the discovery of electricity and mechanization, enormous strides have been made in this industry and it has come this far. The sustainability of electrical energy that we face in every stage of life and almost everywhere has a great importance. Every business enterprise maintains backup power systems not to be a victim in a situation due to possible electric power network failures in our daily lives. These systems are generally UPS or diesel generator sets. Preventing beforehand, immediate detecting and fixing the network-based failures are very important for the ones who use the energy. Because this can cause time and profit loss. Failures may also occur in diesel generator sets, which are activated during network outages, and because of this failure, the company may completely become out of power. This thesis study aims to aid about preventing possible diesel generator failures before they occur and responding to failures as soon as possible by linking diesel generator sets with SCADA for the sake of avoiding these situations. In this study, the energy consumption was kept under control as the energy parameters of many diesel generators could be monitored continuously and simultaneously, immediate action was made to the failing diesel generator without losing time, and as the SCADA system minimizes the human error, it was operated and directed with a few technical staff. It is believed that diesel generator malfunctions which may occur can be prevented, and the efficiency and the lifespan of diesel engine and alternator are improved by the diesel generator set's being fully integrated with SCADA system.
