Abstract (EN)

Composite materials are widely used in various engineering fields due to their advantages such as lightness, high strength, and design flexibility. Especially with the advancement of three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies, it has become possible to manufacture lightweight and durable structures with complex internal geometries. Honeycomb structures are frequently preferred in this context to enhance mechanical performance. In addition, nanoscale additives play a significant role in improving the properties of polymer matrices. In this thesis study, it is aimed to produce a composite structure by reinforcing two PLA plates, each designed with a pyramidal honeycomb geometry, using nanosilica-modified epoxy and glass fiber. The PLA plates were fabricated using a 3D printer and subsequently covered with glass fiber impregnated with nanosilica-enhanced epoxy resin via the hand lay-up method. The two plates were assembled, and the outer surface was entirely enveloped with the composite layer. Mechanical tests such as compression and bending tests were conducted on the produced structure, and the effects of both pyramidal geometry and nano reinforcement on mechanical properties were evaluated. The results demonstrated that such hybrid structures offer significant advantages for engineering applications.
