Students' views about the usage of visual materials in science and technology class of 4th year

The purpose of this research is to determine the 4th-year students' opinions about the usage of the visual materials in the lesson science and technology. In the research, descriptive searching method has been used, based on scanning model. Surveys have been used as data gathering method. Firstly, the related literature has been studied for preparing the surveys. The surveys have been finalized with the experts' opinions and preliminary application. Survey forms consisting of 19 questions have been prepared for students, in order to make them apply to their managers. The universal set of the research consists of 4th-year students who are educated in 5 education zones in the center of province Elazığ, in the 2013-2014 education year.The sample set of the research consists of 4th-year students, who are educated in the primary schools in the center of province Elazığ. Maximum diversity method, which is purposal sampling, has been used for sampling. SPSS 22.0 programm has been used, in order to evaluate the gathered data and for data mining. The frequency (F) and the percentage (%) distribution of the opinions outcoming from the survesy have been calculated and the arithmetical medians were taken into account. According to the results gathered from research, it proved that the students understood the all science and technology courses better and felt themselves as a part of the lesson, when the visual materials have been used. The results also showed that the students claimed positive views and opinions about the usage of the visual materials.It was reported that the learning process was easier and effectiver and the relationship between students and teachers was better than it had been before.
