Abstract (EN)
Purpose of the research is to examine the relationship between 5-6 age group children's parent-peer relations and parents' marital life satisfaction. The sample of the study selected by simple random sampling method, consisted of 504 children between the ages of 5-6 who attend formal and private independent kindergartens located in Yunusemre and Şehzadeler counties of Manisa during the 2016-2017 academic year and their parents (496 mother, 306 father) and teachers. In this study The General Information Form, Child Parent Relationship Scale, Married Life Satisfaction Scale, Ladd-Profilet Child Behaviour Scale were used. In the study, Independent Groups t-Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, One Way Anova, Kruskal Wallis-H Test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis were used to analyze of data. According to the results of this study, significant differences were found between scores of children's conflicting relationship with mother, and gender of children; between scores of children's relationships with mother, and mother's level of education and monthly income of family. In addition, significant differences were found between scores of children's relationships with father, and gender of children; between scores of children's conflicting relationship with father, and age of children. Also the results of study, significant differences were found between mothers' scores of married life satisfaction, and gender of children, mother's demographic variables as education level, working status and monthly income of family. Besides, differences were only found between fathers' scores of married life satisfaction, and gender of children. Also as the results of current study, prosocial behaviors towards peers differ based on age and gender; asocial behaviors towards peers differ based on age and type of kindergarten; anxiousness-fearfulness of children, exclusion by peers, hyperactivity of children differs based on age, gender and type of kindergarten; aggression towards peers differs based on gender and type of kindergarten and all these relationships are found to be significant. Also the results of study showed significant relations between children's peer relationships, child-mother relations, child-father relations, marital life satisfaction of mother and father. Finally child-mother relations were predicted by marital life satisfaction of mothers and fathers; child-father relations were predicted by marital life satisfaction of father. Prosocial behaviours towards peers were predicted by child-parents conflicting relationship and marital life satisfaction of father. Asocial behaviours towards peers, hyperactivity of children and aggression towards peers were predicted by child-father conflicting relation and marital life satisfaction of father. Anxiousness-fearfulness of children were predicted by child-father relations. Exclusion by peers were predicted by child-father positive relation and marital life satisfaction of father. Resutls of the study were discussed, interpreted and appropriate suggestions were given within the scope of the literature.
