Abstract (EN)
Ayniyat registers are one of the important archive sources written in the 19th century, one of the last periods of the Ottoman Empire. Thanks to these sources, it provides information about many issues such as the functioning of the state, bureaucracy, social situation, cities and institutions of the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. The fact that the official correspondences were kept verbatim in these notebooks may have played a role in them becoming an important source of information for current and future research. The Ottoman Empire established a long-term dominance in the Serbian geography, and ind this process granted a certain autonomy to the local governments of the people in the region. However, this autonomy marked the beginning of a turbulent period that continued with the Serbian rebellions. Since yhe beginning of the 19th century, Serbian lands have witnessed a difficult period for both the local people and the Ottoman administration. Especially at the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second quarter of the 19th century, the rebellions and resistance movements in Serbian lands significantly affected the political and social structure in the region. During this process the social, political and cultural situation of the Ottoman administration and the people showed a serious change. This study focuses on the transcription and evaluation of the Registry Book No: 611, which belongs to the first half of the 19th century. It is aimed to shed light on the political, social and cultural structure of the period through the transcription of the documents in the notebook. In particular, the administrative regulations of the Ottoman Empire in Serbian lands, details of the daily life of the people and military mobility in the region are the basic elements that will be discussed within the scope of this study. This research aims to contribute to a better understandinf of yhe policies and practices of the Ottoman Empire in the region after the Serbian rebellions of the period, and also to provide new findings about the socio-cultural transformation processes in Serbian lands. Detailed examination of Ayniyat Register No:611 will allow in-depth analysis of Ottoman-Serbian relations in a historical context and will reveal the contribution of Ottoman archive documents to academic studies in this field.
